Coffee Thoughts \ Define Yourself

"Never be bullied into silence. Never allow yourself to be made a victim. Accept no one’s definition of your life; define yourself." -- Robert Frost

It is not easy to take your life into your own hands and not let others define you, but when you do your life changes. The ability to let go of your inner child’s need for approval gives you a real experience of power and freedom. You are now at the helm of your life and no longer limited by the fears of others – this is your journey, make it your own.

Coffee Thoughts \ Keep Yourself Young

‘We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing’ – George Bernard Shaw

We become old when we stop learning new things, when we forget how to laugh and have fun. Why do you think we have children and grandchildren, they remind us about the wonder of life and how to laugh at simple things. Joy and the ability to play with life is an art that keeps one young. So remind yourself that play is as important as your career, your clean house, and your problems. Too many people become successful and along the way they forgot how to play and enjoy the fruits of their labor.

Coffee Thoughts \ The Shadow Side of Talent

“Everyone has talent. What is rare is the courage to follow the talent to the dark place where it leads.” --Erica Jong

Becoming the best at what you do, or just entering the competitive arena, is never easy. You’ve got to have tough skin to endure judgment and criticism, to cope with jealousy and ignorance and to hold on to your beliefs when your talent is ignored or deemed irrelevant. Your destiny is in your hands, you have to have faith and persevere. And to find that strength, you need to accept all of you.

Coffee Thoughts \ Being Terrified

"Those times in life when you're terrified are the mastery times" -- Jim Carrey

There is nothing wrong with being terrified, just don’t let it stop you. Fear only indicates your familiarity with the problem and how much you believe you are in control. When you are not in control, you discover great new things about yourself. Lessons that are learned when you are afraid are learned well, they are etched in your minds and never forgotten. So embrace the terror from within and let it guide you to becoming more masterful in your life.

Coffee Thoughts \ The Magic

"I don't want realism. I want magic" — Tennessee Williams (A Streetcar Named Desire)

I believe in the magic of life. It is the belief that you can make something happen, that you have a magic wand in your hand and you can change a pumpkin into a beautiful carriage drawn by white horses. And when you believe in your vision and carry it close to your heart, then you have the ability to create it. So never, never, never give up on the magic, it makes the world go around.

Coffee Thoughts \ No Such Thing As Impossible

"Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing." Muhammad Ali

The great ones have all done what others believe to be impossible. Something is impossible if you believe it to be so and it’s possible when you have faith. The power of your beliefs is at the bases of your results. If you’re not getting what you want from life then perhaps you’re not asking for the right things. Ask for more of a commitment from yourself, ask for the strength to get through the struggle, ask for the faith to keep you going when you think you can’t, and ask for a miracle when you need one and be prepared to receive it when it comes. Then the impossible turns into the probable and the probably into the inevitable

Coffee Thoughts \ Self-Acceptance

"I'm tough, I'm ambitious, and I know exactly what I want. If that makes me a bitch, okay." Madonna

Learning how to accept all of yourself, the good, the bad and the ugly is one of the biggest challenges of life. We tend to judge ourselves because others don’t approve, or we don’t meet their expectations. But it is your own expectations that you should meet, your own heart you should follow, and when you can be present for yourself without guilt and judgment, then you will radiate love, strength and an energy that will draw others to you. Paying attention to your own needs doesn’t make you selfish, it frees you to see others more clearly and it releases a desire to share and give from a satisfied heart. So start each day by paying attention to the most important person in your life – yourself.
